Introduction
The client Tacx is an innovative company with a passion for cycling. Tacx develops and produces among other cycle trainers, bicycle repair stands and tools, water bottles and water bottle cages. Momexx Mould Making Experts BV and Tacx have a long history together. Since 1993, Momexx has an excellent cooperation with Tacx, Momexx produces about 80% of their moulds. Recently this collaboration realized, once again, a beautiful product; the Genius Multiplayer T2000.
Project
Momexx works with his clients in projects led by several project managers. By doing so, several complex projects can exist simultaneously so that Momexx can be flexible as a partner. For example, Tacx had a deadline for August 2011. They wanted to exhibit the Genius Multiplayer T2000 at the Eurobike cycling show. Momexx was able to meet this deadline because of its working method. Momexx is an all providing company that designs and manufactures the moulds themselves, for this reason Momexx has a fast cycle time and therefore the deadline could be met.
Moulds and craftsmanship
In total, Momexx produced twenty moulds for the Genius Multiplayer T2000. Momexx likes to help and think with you during the process and the development of a product. This resulted in product that could meet all the requirements and desires of the client. Because Momexx thinks with you in the process of a product and because Momexx manufactured many moulds for this product, it was possible to check if all the parts fit together and make a smooth connection.
For the surface of the Genius Multiplayer T2000 a VDI 27 was chosen. There were some fairly large products, and therefore it was decided to apply this structure by chemical etching. This gives the product a light texture. The project also included two 2K products. By using 2K technology it is possible to combine various attributes so that the functionality of the product gets better. Momexx could make it possible for Tacx to easily produce the 2K products by transferring the product from one mould to another mould using a six-axis robot arm.
End result
This project was, once again, perceived by both parties as a wonderful collaboration that led to a suberb product.
